Informatics Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Informatics Engineering Study Program of Universitas Pamulang Hold Guest Lecturer Exchange
As part of the implementation of academic collaboration, the Informatics Study Program of Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga and the Informatics Engineering Study Program of Universitas Pamulang organized a Guest Lecturer Exchange activity. This activity aims to broaden students' perspectives, share expertise among lecturers, and strengthen synergy between higher education institutions.
On this occasion, two courses from the Informatics Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga invited guest lecturers from Universitas Pamulang.
1. Guest Lecture for Software Engineering Course
The guest lecture was delivered by Dr. M. Mustakim.
In his presentation, Dr. M. Mustakim discussed the SDLC - Software Development Life Cycle. He explained the four main stages in the software development process, namely: specification, development, validation, and evolution. Students were guided to understand the systematic workflow required to produce high-quality software.
2. Guest Lecture for Theory of Automata Course
The next guest lecture was given by Maria Ulfah Siregar, Ph.D.
In this session, the speaker introduced and demonstrated the use of JFLAP version 7.1, an open-source software for automata simulation. Students were taught how to design and run computational models such as DFAs, NFAs, PDAs, and Turing Machines. Once the design is complete, the model can be tested with various input examples to validate the correctness of the automaton. The use of JFLAP makes learning automata concepts more interactive and applicable.
This guest lecturer exchange activity is expected to continue as a form of commitment from both study programs to improve the quality of learning and expand academic networks.
